Overhauling of the regulator

The regeneration of the regulator consists in replacing all worn or damaged elements with new ones. In the case of Renault pressure regulators, this applies to the plunger shoes, valve seat and needle. Other elements of the regulator, such as the housing, coil and the regulator head, in most cases do not require replacement, even with significant mileage over 300,000 km.

It should be noted here that during operation, the regulator produces a magnetic field inside which attracts all metallic impurities from the fuel. When the fuel is contaminated, quite a lot of contaminants accumulate inside the regulator, blocking the correct operation of the regulator. The regulator can only be cleaned by a long pressurized flush. Therefore, it is advisable to install a fuel filter (in Laguna idE), cleaning the fuel from contaminants below 50 microns.
